On November 26th, 2016, the Kanata Psychology and Counselling Centre celebrated its 2-year anniversary. To mark the occasion, the centre held a small social event and invited Kanata North Councillor Marianne Wilkinson and Kanata South Councillor Alan Hubley to join us. Centre Director, Dr. Rebecca Moore, and her colleagues have been pleased with the positive community response we’ve received in our two years of operation, noting that with the increased awareness of mental health, the need for accessible services that meet the needs of our community remain our priority. Discussions focused on our child and family therapy services, eldercare support services, low-fee therapy services, and our plans for the development of drop-in mental health services.
It was a pleasure to have the councillors in attendance and to hear about their shared interest in the mental health of our community. We thank everyone who has helped increase awareness of mental health and who have helped the centre to grow:)
