Kari Kingston-Davis
I believe that you are the expert on you, and I welcome the opportunity to help you make positive changes that are both attainable and sustainable. I strive to create an accepting, safe, and non-judgemental environment where clients can feel comfortable sharing their innermost thoughts and feelings. I take an integrative and holistic approach to psychotherapy by addressing both the mind and the body, utilizing mindfulness interventions, encouraging lifestyle changes, and exercise. My approach includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT).
I recognize that there is no “one size fits all approach” to psychotherapy. |I believe in working collaboratively with clients as they explore the link between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Together we will work towards your goals using a variety of techniques to develop positive change. My goal is to empower you to gain self-awareness, increase resiliency, develop problem solving skills, and confidence in yourself and your abilities.
I chose to pursue a career in psychology because I am fascinated by human behaviour and why we think, feel, and act they way we do. My education also includes undergraduate degrees in both Criminology and Justice and Forensic psychology. I have experience working with adolescents and adults coping with mood disorders and individuals that have endured trauma. I also have experience working on crisis help lines.
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Yorkville University. I am a registered psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and providing psychotherapy services under the supervision of Scott McCleery and Dr. Rebecca Moore.
